What is secure webpage? In internet security, logging (or signing) in and out is the process by which individual access to a website is controlled by identification of the user in order to obtain credentials to permit access. It is an integral part of computer security. A user can log into a system to obtain access, and then log out when the access is no longer needed. The primary use of an internet login procedure is to authenticate the identity of any user. When a user logs into the system, a session is begun. A login session is the period of activity between a user logging in and a user logging out. Secure webpages are being used more and more by organisations who want the ability to communicate with their audience online without other users being able to access the information. It is very similar to how an intranet works in that a user has a username and password to login to the website. Once the user is logged into the website they will have unique 'rights' that other users do not have. They might be able to see a webpage with information that another user cannot see, they might be able to access personal information via a database similar to what we do with online banking. We call this 'user rights permissions'. How to secure a webpage with iSmart? Using User Manager and Create you can grant a user certain 'rights' or you can grant a group of users certain 'rights'. iSmart modules required to secure a webpage are User Manager for login permissions to administrator the system and Create where you can publish a webpage and identify that only users within the 'secure users' group can access that webpage. The user would gain access to that webpage via logging in.
